We get asked quite often if Colour Nail Bar is a franchise or a chain? Our answer is always “not yet!” We are a family-owned business. Just two sisters who want to provide something different to the public instead of the same old ‘nail salon’. Every time we’d visit one of the other salons, it didn’t matter which one, they all felt the same. We were like “good grief” are these the only options we have? This is ridiculous! We live in one of the most diverse cities in America, yet we didn’t have diverse options when it came to nail salons. Tsk, tsk, tsk. We are proud to be part of this community, proud to be Americans, and more than anything, proud to make a difference!
So the idea was born to offer the community a “haute social experience” where you can get quality nail care, chat with others, and not be on edge thinking someone’s talking about you. Then as we went along planning and designing the salon, the vision kept getting bigger and bigger. We wanted our clients to be comfortable, have enough personal space to themselves, but also close enough to talk with someone next to them. Remember, it is a social experience…it’s about connecting and re-connecting with others especially in these technologically-advanced days. We designed it from the client’s perspective. During the buildout, we never left home without measuring tape. We’d go to stores and whip out that trusty measuring tape to make sure our store-bought items would fit in the space. Trust us, some of the store-employees knew us by name…wow really? Anyway, we taped yarn to the floor to visually see bench space, chair space, etc. Is there enough room to walk around if we did this service. Then we had to think about the technicians to ensure their work-spaces are ergonomically designed so they wouldn’t tire or have kinks in their backs, etc
Like everything at Colour Nail Bar, we are a work in progress that we will continue to improve upon. We’ve only been open since August 2011 (oh my, we’re coming up on our 1 yr. anny!) and we’re working hard to make Colour the best salon for you to find inspiration from people who share your interest in a clean and sanitized salon, a place where respect is mutual. We will continue to provide you quality services and if your services are not up to your expectaions, just talk to us and we’ll do our best to make it right with you. We really think we have the best clients (friends) around. We appreciate you!
